Central Coast Tradition

Our Winemaker

Meet our visionary winemaker, Justin Kahler, whose journey from childhood summers to international experiences has shaped his profound connection to winemaking. Nestled in the heart of California’s Central Coast, Justin’s passion for wine was ignited during his visits to his Grandparent’s ranch in Santa Margarita. However, it was his time at the renowned Erna’s Elderberry House that truly kindled his fascination with the art.

Justin’s educational path led him to California State University, Fresno, where he honed his skills and understanding of Enology and Chemistry. His thirst for knowledge took him across the globe, embarking on internships at prestigious wineries such as Peter Michael Winery in Sonoma and Church Road in New Zealand, enriching his expertise.

Despite his international endeavors, Justin’s heart remained tethered to the Central Coast. Over the past 18 years, he has been an integral part of the winemaking landscape in Paso Robles and the Central Coast region. From Calcareous Winery to Michaud Vineyard, from Treasury Wine Estates to SVP Winery, Justin’s hands have touched the vines and his creativity has graced the cellar.

His journey, a tapestry woven with diverse experiences, has underscored his dedication to crafting wines that resonate with the essence of the vineyard. Justin’s approach is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, guided by the belief that exceptional wines are a celebration of the land’s natural gifts and the grape varietals that thrive within it.

Join us in experiencing the culmination of Justin’s journey through the wines he creates. Each sip tells a story of heritage, exploration, and the shared love for the remarkable world of winemaking.
